Biggest Lessons Ever Learned
... Interesting how junior high taught me so many things, whereas at that moment, I really didn't like all of the experiences! I think I could safely say I was my dorkiest in junior high :) But one of the biggest things I learned that you can't "fix" friendships or rifts between people by brushing over the matter, or buying them things. In junior high at that time, it was considered "cool" to bring people balloons on their birthdays to school. That way everyone would know who's birthday it was by all of the hoopla.. naturally, the more balloons you had, the more popular you were. Because for some twisted reason if people spent $3 on a stupid helium balloon, then your life was automatically validated! (This lame practice continued throughout high school as well).. I had a former friend with whom I had a huge fallout.. well, during that time was her birthday and I felt bad for what was going on. So I proceeded and went to the balloon store and bought her the BIGGEST balloon there was, $10!!! So silly... well at the time she loved the huge ass balloon.. but later when we were fighting again she said that you can't just make things "better" by buying people things... lesson learned finally about 10 years later :) Better late than never I suppose!! Either way, it doesn't matter.. I am going to be in med school, and I doubt she's doing anything with her life..!! JUST KIDDING!!!
