Chicago - Revisted

Get it? Get the play of words on the title? Haha, just like Matrix Revisted! (The behind-the-scenes DVD on the making of the first Matrix - for all you newbies who aren't hip to Matrix lingo!) How appropriate of a title, after all, this is the first time that I came to Chicago with BF... and hopefully the start of many many more visits. Therefore, Chicago has become infused with his essence... what an interesting idea and thought.

Anyways, it was an interesting time. Not as tragic and dramatic as it could have been. Although, judging from Thursday's events, I really was not in the mood to go. and was seriously considering cancelling. But that's no good.. I am an adult and I have to assert myself and my life plans.

The Northwestern conference was a real cool experience. I am really enjoying seeing all these sides of medicine. I really feel like I am more than just a medical school student, slaving away at the books (although, truth be told, I am actually not yet, will be in the fall though). Plus, I am really learning how to perform and be in an "adult" environment. Just as another other stage and culture in life, there are set rules and expectations. If you fail to adopt them, then you are an outsider. I want an emic point of view! (or is it etic??)

Regardless, it was really nice being there with the boyfriend. Plus, I get to expand my "professional" circle in Chicago....
Watch out world, here I come!

I didn't know you went to Chicago with Doug! I'm glad it didn't go so bad. :) Remember there are lots of people rooting for you two, so just stick by your guns and everything will work out!
